The Cyber World has been created by computers and computer networks. The internet which is an electronic communications network that connects computer networks and organizational computer facilities around the world is an interactive tool for instant access of information and knowledge on nearly every subject. The web has created the super express highway of communication and infotainment connecting every part of the globe which, in turn, has made the concept of Global Village a virtual reality.
With the internet maturing day by day, threats are increasing and cyber criminals are making news on a daily basis. Every other day, we hear news of cyber criminals hacking into banks, online sites, companies etc. It is very obvious that something has to be done to secure our IT infrastructure. But how does one do it? How does one start? One answer that comes to mind is Cyber Security Awareness, Training & Research. Thus it is necessary to inform people what is needed to secure their systems.
Towards this end, National Cyber Security Programme is carrying out extensive Awareness, Training and Education campaigns by establishing Resource Centres, so that the public are made aware of the dangers of the internet, and how they should be careful and avoid falling into cyber traps.
